Position Description The Valley Mission, a 501-(3)(c) non-profit organization based in Staunton Virginia, offering shelter, support and guidance to the homeless, is soliciting qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director serves as the leader of the organization advocating the vision of the Valley Mission to assist the homeless in the Shenandoah Valley. This position requires a highly skilled and effective leader with a demonstrated record in fundraising. The Executive Director must also demonstrate a proven record in personnel relations and management, strategic planning, and business management with strong budgeting skills. The Executive Director reports to and works closely with the Valley Mission Board of Directors to provide comprehensive services to the homeless. The Executive Director should also possess the planning skills to carry the Mission's work well into the future. Successful candidates should possess experience in major gift fundraising, business management and at least five years experience in the non-profit sector and a bachelor's degree in business or related field. Salary range upon hiring is $40,000 - $60,000, with an attractive benefits package.
