Check out the latest renovation happening at Valley Mission! Thanks to special grant money received from the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge as well as donors like you, the basement level of the Valley Mission building at 1513 West Beverley Street, Staunton will soon be a cool and dry space for Mission residents to enjoy during the day.
Did you know that the basement level of Valley Mission includes several family rooms, where parents and children can safely spend time together with books, music or movies? One of the family rooms is specifically dedicated to offering infants and toddlers a quiet area to take a nap during the day. This summer, the basement is also the site of our Summer Reading Program for Valley Mission youth, and it is where our After School Program classroom is located. Valley Mission adults spend time in the basement Day Room as well as utilize the on-site computer lab where they are able to search for jobs and housing online. The basement is an important space for many reasons, and having a way to maintain the temperature and humidity will be a very large improvement of the overall care we are able to offer homeless individuals and families.
But your help is still needed! Please consider donating to this project. Currently, we need an additional $3,000.00 to complete the installation of the HVAC system. Your donation is 100% tax deductible! If sending a check, please note ‘HVAC’ on the memo line. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of those in need!
