Thinking ahead through estate planning allows donors to balance personal financial goals with charitable interests.  Making a bequest to Valley Mission is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy as well as possibly reducing the tax burden on family members.  Contact your attorney or tax advisor to determine your specific steps in achieving a lasting legacy.  Your planned gift will live on in the form of the provision of shelter, support, and hope to hundreds of homeless each year.

Have a vehicle that you no longer use?  Want to ensure that the sale of that vehicle benefits the homeless?  While the donation of vehicles directly to Valley Mission is certainly possible, you can eliminate the burden of titling, insuring, and repairing those vehicles through having the proceeds of their sale directly donated to Valley Mission.  Donate your old car or truck by contacting CARS, designating your gift to benefit Valley Mission.

Support Our Thrift Stores

Perhaps one of the most meaningful ways of supporting us is through shopping at our two thrift stores.  Since more than half of the Valley Mission’s operating income is generated through thrift store revenue, your shopping spree or closet clear-out directly benefits the homeless in our community.  Both of our thrift stores accept gently used household goods, clothing, and furniture for resale.  Donations may be dropped off at our two thrift stores in either Staunton or Waynesboro during store hours.  Pick-up of heavy items can be arranged through telephoning the thrift store closest to your location. In return, all donated items are tax deductible.
